In 2006 I received a solicitation from GMAC Mortgage promoting a warranty for our heating and cooling system. It promised to repair and replace if something went wrong. We bought the warranty at $19.95 per month.
In late January, our furnace quit. We called the HomeSure to file a claim. They promptly had a local service provide visit and attempt to repair the unit. HomeSure then contacted me indicating that the repair costs exceeded the coverage of the warranty... What happened to REPAIR and REPLACE? There is a $1,000 cap on the repair cost. I spent $1200 plus on this bogus warranty.
Look at the marketing literature I responded to when buying the warranty. NOWHERE is it mentioned that it will cover only $1,000.in FACT, it suggests it would cost as high as $4,000 to make repairs without a warranty and it indicates in multiple places "Repair and Replace"...
BUYER BEWARE! CentralProtect Marketing Brochure. Can you see ANYTHING that implies less than a full repair or replacement?
