This complaint is in regards to San Diego County immigration attorney Manuel Angel Gonzalez, state bar number 219130.
In March attorney was hired to represent my wife in an immigration matter and collecte $6000 from me for his services.
After about 10 months, he never contacted us and never performed.
While doing a casual search on the Internet in January I found out the reason why:
His license to practice law was suspended!
This lawyer never notified us when his license was suspended, which he was required to do (he was court ordered to notify all clients about his suspension).

In addition to the United States Justice Department suspension, Mr. Gonzalez is no longer authorized to practice law in the state of California:

After I confronted Manuel Gonzalez about this, he promised to pay me my money on February 17; but after numerous attempts to speak to him to set up a time to meet him, he finally answered my emails and told me that he spent my money and cannot pay me back any of
it.
Lawyers in the state of California are required to hold clients funds in a special trust fund, which this attorney failed to do.
Manuel Gonzalez is doing the exact same this that his license was suspended for: actively searching for new clients to take their money without representing them!
