I've been employed with this company for nearly three years. They advertise free security systems of $850 value for $99 installation fee. The majority of the sales reps inform the customer that this will protect their home and there will not be any need to pay for other equipment. The installers are instructed to install the panel first and then do a walk-through to assess for other security needs. Then hand the customer a protection plan with three different options, the average costing around $2000. After which if complaints are had, they call into a help line to offer customers an upward scale of incentives to try to put out the fire and save the sale.
For the last year and a half I've watched one of our call center supervisors harass multiple representatives, including myself. The harassment I know of has included: forcible hugging, hand holding, standing close enough that their breasts are rubbing the representatives back, hair touching, stealing food, and invasive questioning.
I myself have made complaints to HR. After I made serveral complaints, action was finally taken. They decided to move me to a different department, which would include a demotion. Only after I threatened legal action did they change their resolution to a shift change. Then after a few months, went ahead and changed the supervisors shift as well. Of course another incident occurred. At this point I was told it was he/she said and they would only direct the supervisor to not approach me. Now if they are the only supervisor present and I need any assitance, I'm just screwed and better bide my time lest I wanna send the wrong signal that I'm now comfortable with this person.
I know for a fact I am not the only employee to make such complaints about this supervisor, and yet they are still working there. Their "resolutions" are clearly not taken seriously considering they reverse them a few months later.
In conclusion: it's all unethical, disgusting and makes my stomach hurt. But I need a paycheck for my family. Thankfully, I'm searching for new employment.
