Ordered a pair of boots from Totsy on November 30. Order had an estimated ship date of 12/23. On 12/23 I contacted Totsy because I had received no further communication regarding my order. They informed me that the manufacturer was unable to fulfill my order and I should have received an email indicating such. I never received an email informing me that my order would not be filled. This left me in a difficult position as I had ordered the boots as a gift and now had no gift. However, AFTER being informed that I would NOT be receiving the item I ordered - my credit card was then charged. The policy on their website clearly states that the consumers credit card will not be charged until the merchandise ships - if my merchandise never shipped, why did I get charged? I called again on 12/28 to inquire about the charge and spoke with Alessandra at ext. 539 who informed me that the company has to charge me in order to refund me??? Why would you charge my credit card just to issued me a refund? That makes no sense at all. When I asked why I was charged for an item that they clearly had not sent me she had no answer. She said she couldn't answer the question and that their billing dept. Only works 12pm to 5pm and no one in that department was available at that time. I asked for her supervisor - who of course wasn't available. I then asked for her supervisors name and ext. She said she was not allowed to give me her supervisor's last name and she did not know the extension. Really??? Of course, I still don't see the refund and will probably end up disputing the charge with my bank. They are a horrible company and I just wish I had taken a minute to read these reviews before placing my order!
