After a series of harrassing calls from Sirius where a computer dialed my house every day while I was at work, I reached their billing dept. It appears, like everyone else on this forum, they had executed an evergreen clause in my contract which I was not informed of when I signed up that my contract would renew for $29/month ad-infanitum unless I cancelled. Now the $29.95 which I did not order was overdue and I could not cancel until the amount was paid.
After speaking with a supervisor (Mary&very nice), she removed the $29.95 from the account and gave me the login instructions to verify. A few days later, I recieved a collections/debt notice from their collection company NCO threatening judements and other court action. I logged back into the online Sirius account and verified that my balance was zero and wrote a letter to customer service asking them to remove the account from collections.
The next day, they write me back a form letter saying that they need the account and login information for "identity purposes." When I tried to log back into the account to retrieve my Radio ID, they had removed the account from the system so I could not obtain it.
Very deceptive practicies from the top on down. We need someone on this board to FIND a CLASS ACTION attorney and protect/defend ALL of the former SIRIUS customers who are being defrauded. I will be sending a copy of this to the FTC and to several small law firms known for this type of case.
