When redeploying to the US I selected RSS to ship my personal effects to the US. They provided a quote for door to port and state that it includes all fees except customs fees and goods would arrive in 28 days. Subsequently, their Sub-contractor held my goods for two weeks and we are now 75 days into shipping with no goods yet. I have been assessed with numerous fees for forklifts, offloading, fuel surcharges, etc., however; only $115 were customs fees, which I gladly offered to pay.
After asking RSS to pay the other charges and to provide some offset for the significant delay, I was told that I must pay and they bore no responsibility for any other charges nor for delays. I would have paid, willingly, higher charges up front, however; the bait and switch coupled with a refusal to address any issues is less than ethical or professional.
