Contacted this company to bring goods from China to Englewood, CO. They quoted me a price and I hired them.
After they picked up the goods in China I contacted them several times with no response. According to my supplier shipment should arrive LA on March 29th. After several emails they told me that shipment arrived but was on hold by the customs for Xray.
This is when things started going wrong. They tell me since the shipment is being held by customs they should clear customs in LA instead of in CO. And then askled if I had a customs broker to do this. I told her that I did not and she said the price she gave me was just to ship items not to clear customs. That would be 95.00 plus. 004 per $1000. For bond. I gave in and said OK. I then called customs in LA and they told that if it was X rayed it would be in and out in one day. It has now been in LA for 15 days.
They tell me that it is now on its way and fax me an invoice that is around $600.00 more than I expected. There are the Xray charges, the ocean freight the trucking customs entry customs duty customs bond. And documentation. When asked they removed the trucking. The xray charge was supposedly charged to 8 people. That were in the container.
The duty was higher supposedly because they have a minimum. The bond should have been according to what she told me when talking me into clearing in LA around $. 025 after asking and complaining about it in several emails they responded with there is a minimum of fifty dolllars for a bond.
They also charge for volume of your goods. My suppliers invoice said it was 2.85 M3 they measured them at 3.58 M3. And the weight they gave was 500lbs higher than then suppliers weight. Now they wont let me see goods to check if they are correct without paying up front. The goods are not here yet it is April 22nd. I also just found out that they are not even a forwarder they hired one and raised the price.
