There has been a lot of talk on here abouttheeventline.com. I would like to add some Credentials along with facts to the other posts on usacomplaints.com. Lets start with I do not know who wrote the other post on theeventline.com but it seems there is a trend with this company. I was hired on January 28th. I graduated college in Dec. 2010 with a bachelors degree. I have worked for a reputable rental company (which has been established for 100yrs in KCMO) since 2001. When Bob Hollingsworth hired me he explained how the last manager was worthless a drug addict, that stole and never did his job. I believe I have heard the same words about me. I have a strong job history and in 11 years of working not another employer can say anything even close to how Bob would describe me.
I was Hired on as the Kansas City area manager. As the manager I felt it was my duty to help the company grow. (BIG MISTAKE) There was equipment that needed to be repaired I found a vinyl sewing company that does repairs for other more reputable companies in the KC area. The company quoted me $700-900 for repairs. The job was bigger then anticipated and end cost were $2000 so the company immediately split the difference to $1300. After several phone calls between Bob and the Vinyl repair company, Bob Hollingsworth refused to pay anything over $700. The vinyl company had not received its money owed when I left theeventline.com 4 months later. Even after a lawsuit was brought forth by the vinyl company.
A long time customer of mine from the previous company I worked for decided to give theeventline.com a try. I have done this exact job for this customer for 9 yrs before theeventline.com. I set their tent up exactly like I had in previous years, because of the way the tent was built along with the cheapness of materials the tent was torn in a storm. Never before had this happened. The customer was refused a refund and was only credited to their account which they will never use theeventline.com again.
Now lets move on to treatment of employees. I had hired 2 people in the first month of being employed there. The first person hired had a college degree as well a 3 yrs experience in the industry along with an hourly employee that had some experience and was a college student. The hourly was hired on for $9.00 an hr. It was never disclosed this $9.00 hr was $7.25 plus a $1.75 bonus that is paid and not paid as Bob sees fit. As soon as he hit overtime that bonus was pulled and he was given the option of either get paid $9.00 an hr for overtime or time and a half at $7.25. That is illegal by the state of Missouri's Department of Labor. This is the way all hourly employees are treated.
During June and July I was personally working 100hrs per week. My hourly employees and assistant manager were just under 100hrs a week.in a 2 week span one of my hourly employees had 185 hrs. When I turned in the time sheets for the period I was told by Bob that my hourly employee did not work that many hours. I replied by reassuring him that my hourly did and that was with breaks taken out. Bob, took it upon himself to take 15 hrs off of this employees time worked.
After my entire crew, (which consisted of about 6 guys I used full time) decided to quit I had enough as well. Not a single person got their last checks from theeventline.com due to the fact that Bob Hollingsworth did not feel anyone had done any work. I can guarantee Bob Hollingsworth will try to say I wasnt doing my job or, something else to discredit me but I have emails and supporting documents that if I need to I will post them on here. The documents have been turned into Department of Labor but they are unwilling to pursue it until more people are involved. Apparently him owing me $500 is not enough for them to pursue.
The overall condition of this company is poor at best. I have seen the way the customers and employees are treated and it is poor at best. The equipment is never what theeventline.com says it is and is in poor condition. Dont listen to me though go find out for yourself.
Also before he tries to discredit me like he has so many others. I resigned from theeventline.com was not let go. I am currently happily employed with a reputable company I just want the truth to be known. The examples of issues with equipment and the owner is only a slight description of what all went wrong.
