Switched over salary contract employees to hourly employees and lowered base pay

Originally hired as salary employee with a contract. This contract was signed and honored for about a year. Then someone decided to reformat our pay scale. We were told this change would not effect our gross pay. They said we would switch over to hourly and with a few bonuses, we would lose no money. However they lowered our base pay and we are losing money due to this. I signed a contract for a salary and now it's like they aren't honoring our agreement. I am not sure how this is legal. I was told I would make a few thousand more a year but I am actually going to lose money. I work off shore and only work 6 months of the year. We work 5 week rotations and have no opportunity to work a double shift. Salary was nice because I was always guaranteed a pay check now that I'm hourly I may have to go months without being paid. The bonuses they offered can go away at any time leaving me working just as hard for half the compensation. Even with the bonuses I am not sure we are getting a fair deal. I was sent papers to sign stating the pay change but I disagree with it so I did not sign them. I was never asked about them and neither was anyone I work with. The company decided to offset us not getting paid for a month by paying out our vacation days.
All these changes came in November with the holiday season coming. Bad time of the year for anyone really. Now it's December I'm working the holiday and have gone two pay periods without a pay check. I asked why and they said I was negative on vacation days so there was nothing to pay out to me. I did some research and turns out they made a mistake. I corrected them but they said it was to late and I would have to wait to get paid the money they owe me. I asked in we would get paid time and a half for working x-mas and new years and they told us no. How can we get paid overtime but not time and a half for working on holidays? Can a company just go ahead and change a signed contract to anything they please without approval or agreement from their employees? Why even sign a contract then if only one party holds up to their end of the agreement?
