... On April 22nd I noticed that the resident, _Patient Name Confidential% was
acting out of the ordinary, such as weeping, wraping of clothes around her throat, attemping to get out of the bed (even though she is
incapable of leaving her bed independently), digging out old pills administered by the previous shif nurse. Upon seeing her in that
condition, I knew i had to contact the nurse right away, especially that _Patient name Confidential% doesn't speak a word in English.

Next, the nurse tried to bring her legs back into the bed, but she pushed the nurse away. So, I with that I told the nurse that I will contact Jodi-Administrator & Jenifer the DON (they are the first people to be contacted during a situation like this) since the nurse didn't feel comfortable contacting them herself. Therefore, since it was during the night shift (around midnight), I send a text msg to their cell phones, of which only the DON responded back-stating, that I should tell the nurse to try giving her the PRN meds and call hospice. Since that did not work, because the resident refused, I contacted the DON again and she said to have another nurse give her the meds and take her to the bathroom, even we were warned by the previous shift not to get our of the bed because her
knees were too weak and too susceptable to falling. Hence, I told the nurse and she asked another nurse named Ofelia to help out.

During that time I went to get some of the charting done but next thing I knew the other nurse stepped out of the room and called everyone on that side of the building to come hold patient - name Confidential down while she gives the meds to her in liquid form (it's the type of dropplet you would squeeze liquid out of). Furthermore, as I walked in the room, i saw four people holding her down, but the worst part, was the fact that, after she saw that the resident completely closed her mouth, Ofelia-LPN had the nerves to force
the droplet through her lips, her teeth, and squezed it right into her throat, and noone dared to stop her, even after I said to her that
Patient-name confidential - can report her for this through her interpretator.

Afterwards, she fell asleep for a short while, knocked out from the morphine. The nurse told me that she was going to report everything that happened in her chart book, so by the end of the shift I went home slept and woke up with this issue still bothering me and had to think about how I was going to report this and to who. However, a week later, while I was on vacation, the following Friday, Jodi the Administrator called me to follow-up on that incident. So I told her briefly what happened and who were involved, then told me that she was going to call me back for more details, but she never contacted me back. Then, upon my return to work
one day, my nurse that night - Diane-LPN, who was present during that incident, told me that Jodi had contacted her, attempted to fire her along with everyone working that night who witnessed it, but later called her back to tell her that she will no longer be fired, and to please keep quiet about that incident otherwise it would get the whole facility in trouble with the State.

In short, instead Jodi contacted me, I went into her office. Next thing I knew, the DON walked in right behind me and sat right next to me during the whole conversation. I was drilled about very thing I do for my job from start to finish, then I was drilled about placing a towel between some of the resident's legs who were heavy wetters (contaminating the whole bed, including the mattress). She attempted to suspend me but she did not realize that I had arleady given my notice of getting another job elsewhere. And upon learning of my leaving, she threatned to report me any authorities in the health field so I never consider working in the health care field. I kept my cool, and respectfully told her good luck with everything. Next, months later, I found out that they reported to their head quarter that I was fired for patient abuse, wow!

I hope this helped for those of you in similar situations. Please speak up about this company if you felt wrongly treated.

Take Care
