I live in a 2 bedroom apt., 1100 sq. Ft. I have the same account with TXU for 4 years and my bill has not been over about $85 except during 2 summers it was about $130.00.
I recieved my bill in March of 04' and it was $230 I threw a fit and called every number that I could get my hands on to dispute the bill and even after looking at my account and agreeing that it seemed a little high the only thing they offered to do is test and re-read my meter. Which of course I was told it was okay.
I even had the Director of maintence for the apt. Complex test all the appliance in my house and everything was fine. TXU basically told me that I had to pay the bill. I paid the bill and the next 2 months my bill was not over $75 which means that I supposedly reduced my usage dramatically.
My AC stays on about 72 all year round. I did not change anything for this to take place, but after paying a $230 bill I was not complaining. Now here it is June and my bill is beginning to creep back up again.
There has not been a rate increase since Nov. 03'. But no one at TXU can tell me what happened or seems to even care to. They claim that it is the weather but I have friends that live in 4 bedrooms all electric houses and there bill is cheaper than mine.
After talking to other people about this it seems that I am not the only ones they have done this to.
