I hired Burns Home Improvements to renovate a condominium. Burns was to prepare and paint walls, texture ceilings and do a number of other items. Burns insisted I use Harry Street Carpet to subcontract installation of new laminate floors throughout and ceramic tile floor in the full bath. That way Teresa Burns could make money on the work of the subcontractor.
Burns did not prepare the walls for painting. They painted over plaster that had dropped on the walls when the ceiling were redone. The living room ceiling had to be redone because it was patched and cracked. The work was shoddy and unfinished. Teresa over-charged and kept adding charges above the agreed upon price. She came back several times, to make look like you are difficult to please. It is impossible to fix poorly done work. She wears you out. I had to borrow more money to redo the work.
All laminate flooring Harry Street Carpet installed had to be replaced. Like Burns, Harry Street insulted and blamed me for unprofessional installation work and used delaying tactics to make me believe they might redo the work. I lost $9565.00 to contractors who ignore the contract, overcharge and do poor work.
