Ripoff Misleading authorized reps and useless help from Dish Network

A sales rep from I-Satellite came to our house extolling the virtues of Dish Network service. Since my wife and I were very disstisied with our cable service and Directv had yet to fulfill its promise on imminent local channel service, Dish Network seemed ideal with the Tivo offer and local channels.

The rep knew that we had cable and had Directv before. What the sales rep for I-Satellite failed to tell us that our broadcasts for non-local stations were strictly East Coast.in other words, a program that I had previousl viewed at 10 pm on USA was now only available to me at 7 pm. With both cable and Directv we had the West Coast feeds and had presumed that Dish Network did the same.

After one week I contacted Dish Network about this (I have to wait until later today to contact I-Satellite) and they claim I am the first to complain about this.in fact, they say I should have asked about which feed they do and that they can not be expected, nor their authorized reps, to divulge all information. Austin, a supervisor, even told me that this is not relavent information.

Austin then went on to tell me that I should have presumed that since Dish Network is a different company then I shoul have expected them to operate differently. I then stated that both Comcast and Directv are different companies but they give their West Coast customers West Coast feeds. I then told Austin to reverse roles and ask how it was unreasonable of me to presume that Dish Network did not use West Coast feeds for its clients on the West Coast since its competition did and they advertise themselves as offering superior service to its competition. He did not have an answer to that.

I then asked that since the sales rep for I-Satellite, an authorized rep for Dish Network, knew that I had prior services with West Coast feeds why did he fail to inform us of this critical difference. Such information is not on Dish Networks website either. Austin then restated that such information is not relavent when making a decision.

I then told Austin that since Dish Network authorized I-Satellite to rep its services that I expected dish Network to help me out. Austin then told me that it was not a Dish Network problem. I then asked him that if Dish Network did not care that its authorized reps may be engaged in immoral, unethical and/or misleading behavior. He said that was not the case. I then told him that must be the case since Dish Network apparently does not want to help out a consumer that has possibly been mislead by one of its authorized reps. Austin did not hve an answer for that either. At this point I ended the conversation since I felt my anger beginning to rise and I did not want to be abusive or say something I would regret, and it was obvious that Austin would not or could not help me.

The reason, in case anyone is wondering, that it took us more than three days (our grace period to cancel) to notice this is because apparently there is a West Coast and East Coast feed for Nickleodeon and Disney (just like Directv, further misleading us) and those are the two stations that were mostly watched over the three days, besides the local channels. The "too bad, oh well, not our problem" attitude displayed by the majority of Dish Network employees has permanently turned me against them as a company, not that I believe they care.
