Fedex rips off the consumer

Fedex uses inappropriate/shady techniques to ship packages/letters. When filling out an Fedex airbill, you must weigh each package individually, input the weight in whole numbers and input same on the Fedex airbill. Therefore, if you are shipping a package and/or letter via Fedex, and same does not weigh in whole numbers, i.E., 1.1,1.2,1.3, etc., the weight on your package will be bumped up to the higher weight, i.E., 2 pounds, etc. That means you are being ripped off because you are paying more to ship your package, which does not weigh in whole numbers. I called Fedex and was told that their policy was that they only use whole numbers when shipping and that each package is weighed separately. If each package is weighed individually and the weight is 4.1 pounds, as an example, why should a customer pay to ship a 5-pound package if it does not weigh 5 pounds. These dollars could really add up.

Conversely, if you use the post office, there is a section on their airbill for both pounds and ounces, so you are paying the proper charge for what you are shipping. How can Fedex get away with charging their customers a premium for using their service and then charge them again for weight not substantiated?

This is not rocket science. Fedex is using their shiny reputation to take advantage of their customers. Their policy should be changed to reflect the proper weight, and they should not be overcharging.
