Incompetence to the extreme
Extremely Poor business practices. I reserved a Uhaul truck from this business by phone 3 weeks before a move date. I stopped at the business 1 week before the depature date and was told that everything was a go and on schedule, and I could pick up the vehical on the day reserved.
1 day before my departure date I got a call stating that they could not find the vehical size I needed and only had a 20" truck available, at the same price. Besides the gas usage I would have difficulty with such a large vehical. I was floored by this news and now in panic mode.
I contacted the main Uhaul location in Youngstown and spoke to a sales person named "John" he transfered my reservation to another location that would be able to provide a 14" truck at the same price probably 8 miles from where I live. I don't have a personal vehical and will have to catch several busses in order to make it to this location, and perhaps wind up being charged more. (bait and switch)
The inconvience of having to now travel 8 miles in order to obtain a truck, get up 3 hours earlier because this "Mr. Willie Smith's" incompetence. He calls himself a business man but can not perform the very tasks that are a part of the services he is in business for. He is a poor example of a black business man and is an example of why blacks are reluctant to do business with black businesses. This man had three weeks to make this happen. He decided to wait until the last day to inform me that he was unable to obtain a truck that he was so sure was no difficulty when I made my initial and second contact with him.
Now last minute reshuffling to make this all come together. I will not be doing business with black business people anytime in the forseeable future. You struck out for yourself and your race.
