I would like to file a complaint against Intl Move LLC of North Miami Beach, Fl www.intlmove.com 800-583-0100,305-944-0400 [email protected], Frank@intlmove. ComI received great customer service from Intl Move until our items were picked up. Once they had possession of the items it was over from there. We were told our items would take 4-8 weeks to go from Houston, TX to Milton Keynes, UK.
At three weeks we realized we wouldn't be in our permanent residence until 5 weeks from pickup so I emailed and called to get an update on the shipment. Frank emailed and said he would get an ETA from the ops department, no answer came.in the next month I left 12 voicemails and sent 6 emails with no response. After almost 8 weeks since pickup I was told my items had recently arrived in Miami and there was an overflow. As I continued to call and email they refused to give an answer why it took so long the items to go from Houston to Miami and, for me to be notified of the overage. They refused to answer the phone or return messages. I finally received an email notifying me that the overage charge was $7,385 (I had already paid almost 2,300 for moving, 400 for packing, and 1818 for Insurance) more than 3 times the original moving charge.
When I finally was able to speak to Frank I ask how come it took 8 weeks to get to Miami when you said it would be 4-8 weeks to get to the UK and he said they never said 4-8 weeks they said 10-12 and that it could still be close to being on time if we paid immediately. I have on my inventory list printed 4-8 weeks. It was a work sponsored move so my employer helped further investigate our options. We found many complaints online on varies scam warning sites about Intl Move. We found a honest company and have decided to cancel the remainder of the move with Intl Move and the other company will take possession of the items in Miami and ship to UK.
In the agreement after I have given Intl Move written notice of cancellation they will credit my account the net value for the remaining portion of the move. The invoice for the total move was stated as 12,380 and they said the remaining portion of the move from Miami, Fl to Milton Keynes, UK was only valued at $2,300 and that we still owed them over $5,000 dollars. It is absolutely appalling that they could say that it cost $10,000 to move items from Houston to Miami and 2,300 to move from Miami to UK. It is nearing the end of Nov and my items are still in Miami (items were picked up Aug 30th) I have felt that they are holding my items ransom. Their tactic is to hold the items so people are desperate to get their items and they fold and pay the outrageous price raises. I found evidence on scam website where people paid the surprise price increases and the items still took months to get to their items and many times Intl Move came back again with some extra fees to pay before the items are delivered.
