I purchased a new home that had an alarm system installed by United Alarms, when I moved in they monitored the alarm then after a year I was told I owed for that (I was never asked if I wanted and really have no proff if they even monitored it) and I paid and told them to cancel any services. After 6 months I rec'd a bill for another year of monitoring and resent my letter saying it was cancelled, they then sent a letter with threats to give me a bad credit rating if I didn't pay $1500 as they now wanted me to pay for the equipment, I contacted my builder and was informed they paid for the alarm equipment and didn't have any monitoring contracts and that this was just a scam United was running, when I requested copies of the contracts etc I was ignored but they did put a charge on my title for this and I had to at my expense have it removed as it was bogus but I now have to sue them for the legal costs.
