I am a trailer dealer located in NC. I was contacted by an employee of Lippert Components Inc to replace an axle on a couple's trailer stranded on the side of the road. We did not sell them the new trailer that they had was just the closest dealer to them. Lippert told me on the phone they would pay for fixing the axle and any other charges due to the failure of their axle. Because this trailer was a horse trailer and had a Living Quarters in the front they needed a place to stay while the trailer was being fixed and had a horse that needed a place to stay as well. We provided both with us of our own barn. It took 4 days for the axle to arrive and because it was late in the day when the axle came we fixed the trailer the next day. After all is fixed and they are on their way we send the bill to Lippert for payment of replaceing the axle and stalling a horse for 5 days and use of camp site for 5 days. They informed us they would pay half the bill witch does not even cover the labor for fixing the axle. Lippert is not a company I would ever do business with again nor would I want their axle on my trailer.
