Attorney Kelley was "retained" by me to obtain both Veterans' Administration and Social Security Disability benefits, but fails to disclose that I terminated his engagement after I learned that he had neglected and refused to file any applications for those benefits after over three months had passed, costing me over $5,000 in lost benefits. 2. Because Attorney Kelley performed no services for me, he earned no fee - yet he asserts that he was "permitted" by the Social Security Administration to collect a fee of $6,000 - deducted from my benefits. The basis of his assertion are a fee agreement and a Social Security appointment of representative form that were both signed by me at the time I retained him; I believe that his firm subsequently altered the dates on these documents, after I had terminated him, for the purpose of obtaining the fee despite having performed no services. I have copies of the altered documents available for inspection.
