A few days ago, in August I got an letter in the mail stating the following: "You should act now! You may become a joined plaintiff in a significant lawsuit that will seek... To void your note (s), to give you your home free and clear and/or to award you relief and monetary damages."
After calling them at 800-730-9934, I started to give them some of my personal information. But since I was on my computer, I typed in "Brookstone Law SCAM" — just to check if these guys were legitimate.
I'm glad I did. Apparently, "Brookstone Law" are a fee-based legal service company. I also discovered that I was going to have to pay a legal fee to be part of the "lawsuit" against the "big banks", like Bank of America. I complained that the letter didn't say anything about LEGAL FEES.
So, despite what the letter seems to imply, this is NOT a class-action lawsuit. Every plaintiff in this lawsuit against the "big banks" will have to pay a LEGAL FEE to Brookstone Law. What a SCAM!
I consider Brookstone Law to be FRAUDULENT because:
1) their lack of disclosure on the LEGAL FEES
2) and the misleading language they use in their "Legal Notification" lette
