My 12 week old puppy was sent to me with pneumonia. My primary vet had him on multiple medications that were really working and you could tell in his demeanor. Our vet warned us that if he stops eating, something is wrong.
On Sunday morning, he stopped eating. Since our vet was closed, we decided to take him to the IVEC Beech Grove Emergency Vet. We got to the vet and had to agree to an 85.00 fee just to get back to a room. They took my dog back to get his breathing stable and to get an xray.
The vet tech told us that one of the three antibiotics may have gone bad. The vet tech looked at us like we were bad pet owners because we did not know this. They did not seem that worried about it though.
When the doctor came in, we were shown a 5,000 dollar bill for a procedure that was needed to be done. We had to agree and put a deposit down before they would continue to care for our dog.
