I bought a very expensive, Tag Heuer Diving Watch, nearly 30 years ago, in Hawaii. I have sent it back to the factory, regularly, over the years to have a new battery installed and the watch restored. Recently, I sent it back again with a dead battery.
Tag Heuer is sednding it back to me, unrepaired. They say that they no longer have the parts to repair my watch. Their representative told me that "30 years is a lifeltime for many people". I guess the murder rate in New jersey is a lot higher than here in California.
They are offering me ridiculous credit of 10% if I buy a NEW Tag Heuer.in fact, I belive they have made a corporate decision to get out of the repair business and attempt to force you to buy a new Tag Heuer. Why repair old watches?
I remember the days when parents left their watches to their children. Obviously, that could never apply to a Tag Heuer.
If you are even thinking of buying a Tag Heuer, remember this - They do not support their watches. Someday, you too will get an OBSOLETE notice from them.
I wore this watch, proudly, for many years. Now, I will NEVER buy one again.
