I purchased a dog after it was nearly 6 months old too large for the space it occupied. It sat in it's own feces and drank from a drip bottle. This dog was a high energy breed and it withstood day after day confined with no stimulation. After 6 months of this he was so hyper no one wanted to purchase him. I spent a good sum of money to release him from this torture. He was smart and quickly overcame the habit of peeing and pooping in the same space he slept.
I soon discovered he had a parasite and spent weeks of cleaning diarrhea. After being on meds for about two weeks he then developed mange which was passed maternally from mother dog to pup. Then as I expected, I found out my dog was from a puppy mill. I was told it was one of the worst puppy mills with many violations. I spent a small fortune getting this puppy healthy. Puppies are children too. The Pet Company charges enormous amounts of money for dogs that are often sick and are misrepresented, claiming AKC quality.
