When my 5yr old mattress failed, I contacted Rooms to Go in regards to the warranty. I was advised an inspector would come out and determine if the sagging was within warranty. I later contacted them and was advised that I would need to go into the store and do a reselect. The term they used for getting a replacement for the failed product. I went in the store, located a mattress that was suitable for the cost and met my needs.
So far, so good. Then I got to meet the manager of the store. Original mattress $1077.00, new mattress $999.00. Anticipating a refund and finding they give store credit, I am hit with an additional $99.00 restock fee. Now to go back to the original purchase, I was charged a $140.00 delivery fee for the original mattress. Now they are saying I will pay the additional $99.99 for them to take the failed mattress back.
On top of that, the manager told me I was required to buy a new $69.95 mattress cover in order for them to replace the mattress. As I see it, if the mattress is faulty and is covered under warranty for full replacement, I should not have to pay anything so long as I do not reselect a higher priced mattress. If they feel the original mattress cover they sold me is no good, then they should replace it at no charge as well. As they see it, they are going to get at least $168.00 out of me. As I see it, they should be giving me back $78.00
