United Parcel package insurance is a rip-off They deny all claims Atlanta

Good evening fellow victims. I have been selling on Ebay for over four years now. I closed my Paypal account after Palpay stuck it to me a couple times over small change. I'm not a power seller just enough sales to have an extra nice vaction and pocket money with out touching retirement funds. Most of my product comes from garage sale stuff and etc.

I mostly ship by USPS but some times use UPS for larger and more vauable product. A while back I was able to purchase a near new table top model Zerox copier for small business in excellent condition. I got it for about 1/3 of it's market value. I put it up for bid on Ebay with a very reasonable buy it now price. The copier sold within 2 hours for the buy it now price. The Lady that bought it paid with a money order. I packed the copier in a double reenforced carton with Styrofoam padding and nylon banding straps around the box. I filled out the bill of laden online, put it on the box and dropped it off at the UPS store with $2500.00 insurance.

Five days later the lady who bought the copier sends me an email with pictures of the copier and box. The nylon banding was gone. The box was totally crushed on one corner and had burst open. The copier was in pieces and to top things off it was upside down in the box (even though the box was marked "this side up with arrows). The Lady calls UPS about the insurance claim. UPS comes to her business and picks up the copier and box. UPS ships the copier back to me, no note, explaination, nothing and still upside down. The copier and box looked like it had been dropped off a 5 story building. I call UPS and ask about the claim. They say what claim? I give them all the info that the Lady that bought the copier gave them again.

I was outside 20 minutes later when the phone rang, it was the adjuster for UPS. He very curtly informed me that UPS was not responsible because the copier was not packed properly accordinglly to UPS specs. I suggest everybody read those specs, ups states that they are not responsible for any damage and ups will be the sole judge on any packing and claims for damage. So unless I take UPS to small claims court I've had it, no appeals. I sent the Lady her money back and I will start small claims action next week.

Fedex is much more reasonable to work with I am finding out. I have cancelled my UPS account (and was that a hassel, UPS didn't want to cancel the account made me jump through hoops to finally get it cancelled). No spring vacation til I recoup the loss. Thanks for listening and think 2X before shipping with UPS.
