Magicjack is a total scam! Beware! I saw the infomercial on t. V and thought it would have been a great way to save some money, and i really need every penny I can get right now. I called the "800" number given to start receiving the discount of the year... Yeah right. The first red flag I should have picked up on was the fact that when placing the initial "order" it was not a live person. The system was automated. How ironic... A company selling telephone equipment does not use it... Ok. The automated system made the service sound like a dream... 1 yr of phone service with many features, at such a low cost. (around $36 in was quoted) I proceeded to give my card information... Then was asked if it was credit or debit. Being that it was a debit card... I pushed 2 for debit. The correct thing to do. Then the system tells me they do not accept debit cards for this offer. Now, if you dont accept debit cards, why was it an option? That should have beed previosly specified. I now see i was asked that so they could continue to scam me. Once I was told they did not "accept" debit cards, I terminated the phone call. That being said, I never gave my email address, never received a "magicjack" phone number, never got a confirmation number, "order" number... Or... Gave AUTHORIZATION for them to charge my DEBIT card. Hung up... Knowing the "order" would not be done because they don't take "debit" cards, and nothing was confirmed.
That afternoon I go to the pharmacy to get the daily medicine my son so desperately needs to find out my card was declined. I was in disbelief, there was no way, due to unemployment just put $200 on my card. I'm in tears, used pharmacy phone, to find out my unemployment card was charged... (2).. Times in amounts of $98.30... Equaling $196.60. (my total and only income is from unemployment at $200 biweekly) I was hysterically crying. I immediately tried contacting the "561" number on my statement to get nowhere. Once again, they dont use telephones, no one live. Still dont have my money. Got a "live chat" eventually who did not care at all about my whole experience. If something happens to my son due to this the whole world will know about it!!! My son has heart problems amongst others and this scam is keeping his medical money! I am praying every day that SOMEONE in that company has a soul and morals, and refunds my money, for my son. How do they sleep at night knowing they are taking from people every day? To me the company is disgraceful and disgusting... I would rather clean toilets than deceive people and take their money. Not everyone has the time to wait for the money to be "refunded" if ever... My card should never have been charged in the first place! Please, Please, let a miracle happen and refund my $196.00 ASAP!!! I'm not just a pissed off person, I am a single mom with an ill child and need every penny I can get.
