I received in the mail today a letter from SKS Associates stating that they acquired all of the rights of my former credit card processing company, Golden Eagle Leasing. They stated that I owed fees or taxes that were never collected properly and that they were going to debit my account to the tune of $137.86. I checked my account online and they had already made the deduction - 4 days prior to my receiving the letter.
My account with Golden Eagle Leasing has been closed for at least two years. This can't be a legal thing to do - buy a company and charge all previous clients vague fees that supposedly were never collected. I searched for their web site and found nothing. I'll try calling the number tomorrow and post any news.
