I went to Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home to assist a relative with funeral arrangements for a family member. The sales person (Family Service Advisor), when asked about more economical services than the $3200 Basic Cremation, said "I could tell you stories, but I won't" in reference to competing funeral homes. My relative was terrorised into believing that something bad would happen to the family member's remains!

My research has since found, that in price surveys, Dignity Memorial owned funeral homes like Acacia have some of the highest prices of all. The same $3200 Basic Cremation can be purchased for $674 through People's Memorial Association (of Washington), a non-profit organization associated with Funeral Consumers Alliance a national non-profit organization.

My family is still trying to convince my relative, that the family member's remains won't get mixed up or worse!
