I was a member, thought it would be a great idea having just moved to Austin. "Look Jon, we have these wonderful books full of women looking to meet you"."We also have mixers to help people meet up."
After signing the contract and having three ladies "hand selected" for me, I was explained that they would have a chance to say yes/no. Only one said yes, which is fine, and we spoke on the phone for nearly 45 minutes. It was a great conversation, and the next day when I talked with CSA, they told me that this person said that I was hateful, racist (toward her), and very rude to her. At that point I was lost. I was asked to come in and pick from the book. I did, apparently they only have one race in the book - same as me.
I chose three more. Again, two said no, one was a "no contact" - meaning she didn't return their calls. I went to a couple of mixers, they only had one per month. The mixers seemed to be attended by the same group of people that you'd see in all the group photos they had on the website, but none were in the books. Many more visits to the office and requests to meet ladies, and many more "no contact". Finally, I asked to speak to someone other than Donna and explained that I was not having much luck at all, and the scant few who they did have return calls on all were "in relationships" or didn't like the fact that I had a 6 year old son or some other excuse.
I was told that they had a few new women come in and that I could look at those in a few days when they had their profiles ready. I was presented with a couple of more profiles, one stating that she didn't want anyone who had been married, another who was a heavy smoker (which I didn't prefer), and a third who had a one month old (YES!).
After looking around online about this company, I found a few places where I could see a similar pattern with them. I brought this up, and asked out of my contract. At this point, Donna turned from being this really cheery person to a little hateful woman who explained that if I didn't like what they had to offer that was "tough" because I have a contract that I am obligated to pay in full or else they would sue. She went on to say that I was the one being difficult and not working with them at all on anything. I really have no way to understand that one since I went along with things and chose "3 at a time" like they explained. I ended up choosing everyone in the book at that point over a period of 10 weeks. It was a repeat performance all the way through the book.
Eventually, one of the ladies I personally selected on the first trip there was on another dating site (one of the online ones that charges by the month). I approached her on there, we met for dinner. When I asked her about Christian Single Adults, she said she never had any luck there and no one ever chose her. I told her that I had picked her profile about 10 months ago and they said you were "in a relationship". She said, not true, never been since I have been with them, they never called.
Eventually, I paid the remainder of the $1300 membership fee (suppose I came in on a bargain basement month if they charged others $4000). Once I requested to be let go from the contract, I never had a nice interaction with anyone there again. I don't know if this helps anyone, but I don't need to pay that money to go eat appetizers once a month.
