Return Policy Unfair! - return policy

I am a grandma of 2. Over Labor Day we took a trip to Mall of America where I saw an adorable bomber jacket for my grandson at the BabyGap. I asked the saleslady if it didn't fit, could I return it. She told me yes if within 30 days. I told her that wouldn't work because my grandchild lived in Va. And I wouldn't see him til Oct. She said no problem if i got a gift receipt I had 60 days, so I did. When I tried to return it with the gift receipt at another BabyGap in my area (KS), they informed me they could only give me an instore giftcard... Not my money back! This is a ripoff! I paid cash for this coat, the tags are still on it and they won't give you your money back!!! Do not do your Christmas shopping here if you want to be able to return anything and get your money back! The way their return policy works is they want to make sure you can only buy more merchandise from their store only... And you know after the holidays you won't find anything you need!
