Extreme Abuse on a simple order follow-up

I made on online purchase on 12/07/10 from the buymerchant.com website. The order went smooth for two small items and I received an e-mail receipt after their site took my credit card information.

After 10 days with no follow up e-mail with the shipping confirmation which is customany with almost every other company I deal with; I made a phone call to the number listed on their website.

What followed caught me complete off guard. I simply gave the person my order number and inquired about the shipping ETA, and the person immediately attacked me accusing me of being a scammer.

He cussed me out and told me that he only sells in large quantities to wholesalers. I simply let him know that I was currently looking at his website and at the very top banner, there is a sign that indicates "no minimum order", and that his website took my order for the two items and processed my credit card information.

I then got treated to one of the most vulger verbal abuses I ever received and it caught me off gard.

I just let him know that I considered his site a fraudulent site and would be submitting my receipt and his website to the FTC compaint division and hung up.

He then called me back and continued his verbal tirade.

This person should really be stopped andit seems that he simply collected my personal information and credit card information for no good reason.

Is there a way to stop abusers like this from collecting peoples information?
