I retained Michael DeTommaso on a recommendation from a friend that never used him himself. My first mistake. He then threw me over to his partner Alan Welsh who is either the busiest person I ever met or the worst lawyer that could care less about the client. I called very seldom because I knew how they bill (time is money). When I did call I never got a return call. I usually got a fax (which I was billed for) or an email (yup got billed for) I don't mind the money everyone has to make a living but I want to have a conversation pertaining to my case after all it is my money. I finally got sick and tired of not having my calls returned or ridiculous billing practices I demanded the original lawyer Michael DeTommaso. The relationship started out alright but when I didn't hear anything about my case after 4 or 5 months (case was suppose to go on quickly) I called him. Well first I started leaving messages like when he gets a chance please have him call. When he never called me back I called the office and his secretary put me on hold for a while. She finally came back and said he is on the phone he will call you back. Well he never did. I then called back several times to experience the same thing. I finally faxed him and a NY attorney that told me what to write a letter and I got a big Email. Still no call! I wrote back to him (anyone wanting to see the letters back and forth are welcome) saying it took a letter threatening you with going to the Bar association for you to get in touch with me. Well at this point I said I want a call. Which he did raving and screaming don't threaten him etc. I said look just refund my money you took for the additional retainer and we will call it a day. He said no there is nothing left. Well since I did not get any calls and there where no faxes, no emails, nothing I have to assume I didn't use his time. He is a thief and a bad one. People be careful with lawyers they know the law and know how to bend it. The bottom line this law firm is a joke. It is a money pit. PS has been over 11 months and my case still has not been heard.
