We also had a horrible experience with Erin Chaffee of Valley of Hope. They got us so excited to be able to adopt our baby and we talked to the birthmom and we did everything we were supposed to. We got a call from Erin stating that we needed to come up with $17,000 in cash by the next day. We asked what the fees were for and asked for a breakdown. She said that it was for administration fees. They sell babies. A caucasian baby goes for $30-40,000 and a black baby goes for around 20,000. Don't buy into the idea that they say that their fees are half of $5,000. It is so awful that they can legally get away with selling babies. Just ask some of the birthmoms... They don't see the bmom expenses. It was the worst possible experience. We had a lot of money tied up with them and we didn't receive a penny back!!! They also fly girls out to Utah, because in Utah, the birthfather doesn't have to sign. They are not Christians, as they try to make you believe! Christians would do the right thing when it comes to finding parents for the kids. They actually sell babies!
