American Home Shield
Scams customers repeatedly by sending out a co. That secretly takes photos of your house and always find a way that the repair is "YOUR FAULT" so AHS doesn't have to pay

American Home Shield home warranty is teaming with local companies to scam it's customers. Each claim I have placed have miraculously been due to my negligence. I instructed that APEX Appliance is never allowed to step foot in my home again and they told me that this is the only company that I can use in my area. I was told that I missed the 2nd opinion deadline, and if I placed another claim for the same item they would send APEX out again and I will have to pay another service fee. I have had to replace a stove on my own because I refused to allow them back in my house. My dryer recently went out and APEX came out. I caught the repair guy taking photos of my home with his camera. When I caught him he tried to pretend that he was using his phone.

He told me my part would take 7 to 10 days and then told AHS that I needed the part due to not cleaning the in the wall. He stated he found debris upon opening the vent. It was not until he took the back panel off that he found a scoop of lent. I guess I'm supposed to take the back off of my dryer to clean inside? (WTF). Every appliance claim I have had with them APEX has made it my fault. The technician that came out tried to make side deals with me for things that he saw in my house that he thought he wanted or could use. He instructed me how to make the repair myself, but why would I if I have a warranty company that pays you for the repair (RED FLAG). He told me there is no charge for the duct to connect to the wall but I can give him something off the record. APEX appliance is shady and so is AHS. They save AHS money from making repairs and they get $60 out of the deal just for coming out and saving AHS the cost of repairs.

It's a win-win for these to companies and leaves the customer paying out more money than just their monthly premium. It has to be against the law to do what they are doing. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them. When my stove needed repairing they told me I needed a brain on it. The report to AHS stated that I didn't have knobs on the stove and didnt take care of it, which was why the repair wouldn't be covered. Had the technician asked me about the knobs I would have pulled them out of the drawer where I keep them so my 2 year-old couldn't turn the stove on. He didn't care about the knobs because he knew that was how he would get $60 for his company and save AHS money so they would only use their company. There are many other appliance repair companies in my area so why am I stuck using 1? Because they work together to make each other money. I would love to set them up and prove everything that I'm saying!
