A.Y. Transport, Inc. Was hired by me to transport all of my personal belongings from Van Nuys, Ca to Park Forest, IL. They gave me a price of 1,788.00 which is on the contract that I signed with them, but once they transported my goods to Illinois, they contacted me the day before they were supposed to deliver and told me that the price jumped up by nearly double the original rate.
After going back and forth with them for 3 days, they delivered only half of my goods after I paid the full contracted amount owed to them, and they claimed the rest was lost. After contacting them repetedly, I was informed by 3 different individuals (Osav???) and (Dana???) and (Michelle Oney) that my property is in a storage facility, being held until I paid the remaining balance. I have recorded phone conversations, and taken pictures of all of the property that I recieved with the numeric stamps that they placed on the items to keep track of how they also ripped me off on the costs of the boxes, and protective cushioning (which by the way was nonexistant on all but a couch and a desk).
After opening boxes, I realized that the packers, actually used my own property to cushion other property i.E. Hats, pillows, clothing, etc. Each time that I call, I am place on hold terminally, and they are doing nothing to close this matter with the exception of sending me an invoice. To make this absolutely clear, the company never once called me before they shipped my property to alert me that there would be extra charges in any way, even though they had in excess of 4 phone numbers to reach me at, as well as 2 email addresses.
There was no attempt whatsoever to contact me. I have a contract that states I was supposed to pay $1,788.00, which was paid in full. Now they are holding my property hostage and are refusing to deliver until the remaining balance is paid in full.
