Moved into our home 12/08 reported smell in utility thought it might be gas) room. Builder sent plumber who said smell was normal odor from water heater drain line. Odor continued until such time as I decided to go outside of builder for analysis. Gas company responded as emergency found that natural gas connection had never been tightened at rear of dryer. Called plumbing service who verified that connection was never tightened from original install. We have been brreathing natural gass for almost three years, house could have blown up. Not sure what this long period of gas exposure has done health wise. I believe builder should be liable for more then just the cost of the repair (which they offered to pay!
