Builder did not build a quality home. I filed for arbritration to resolve the poor workmanship items, like water leaks, hardwood floor and walls damaged from water leaks, mold, side porch 4" off center, paint deteriation within 1 year, patio deck higher than the inside basement floor allowing water to enter inside home, entry doors allow water entry, windows leak air and water.
The builder overcharged the builders margin as the contract called for 14%mark up, but by magic his numbers came out at 16.2%, the arbritrator agreed and I recieved a credit for $ 6000.
The builders contract required that arbritration be used to resolve disputes. I spent $36,000 on attorneys and arbritration fees only to be awarded $ 31,000 of the $225,000 filed for, so the real rip off is the contract that isn't being followed and the arbritration system which doesn't work!
The builder agreed with the arbritrator to fix certain defects in March I'm still waiting for that to happen and the arbritrator ruled that the builder was to pay me $ 1,800 that should have been paid by him to the Arbritration board!
If you use this builder beware for those things you can't see when the house is completed!
