I was contacted by phone by First American Payment Systems. I was told there was no risk using them. That they had no start-up fees, no contracts, no annual fees, no hidden fees and no minimums. I meet with a sales rep, Ryan DeVitis, at Starbucks. He assured me that what I was told over the phone was correct but because of my low volume I would need to pay a higher percentage, which I was alright with. I signed a the contract taking his verbal word what was in the agreement.
Immediately, I was charged a start up fee. This fee wasn't refunded until I threatened to quit. Then a few months went by and I was charged a annual fee, which they returned within 30 days. The next month I was charged a PCI fee, I reminded them about the no hidden fee, and they said this was something they couldn't refund. So I sent in my termination letter and called the PCI department to get a refund since I no longer need there services. They informed me that I was in a 3-year contract and there was a $495 cancellation fee.
I have tried to contact my sales rep, Ryan Devitis, for an explaination. I have left several messages and he won't call back. I have waited over a week. After doing research I have found many unhappy customers with scam complaints about this company. I have decided its time to take action.
