Develop Inc has several ads for entry level event/promotional marketing positions. They call you very quickly after submitting your resume. Their office in Schaumburg, IL has the title Marketing and Events, which is also the way they answer the phone. I've also seen them under the Exclusive name. Larissa Hawley is the business owner (I just discovered her last name in a blog about ripoffs.) They promise a "fast-track" to management—within 1 year unlike other companies where it "takes 3-5 years". They give a big story about why everyone in the company enters at entry level. I have my 3rd round interview tomorrow via telephone. After a 1st round interview that lasted 15 minutes, with Larissa speaking 100 miles a minute, my 2nd round interview was the day after and consisted of me driving to their office and then being given directions to a Sam's Club and the name April w / a cell phone number. I watched them do a demonstration of gourmet popcorn—Popcornopolis and then chatted with April. Lucily I'm a savvy professional w / 20 years experience and a mom with a good gut instinct that something wasn't right about the whole deal. I'll be giving Ms. Hawley a piece of my mind tomorrow. I'm also going to report them to the Illinois Secretary of State and the Better Business Bureau. They especially pray of young new graduates with the promise of rapid advanvcement.
