My UPS hell started when I ordered a much needed camera battery. I needed it prior to a trip I was taking and needed it in a hurry. The vendor I ordered it from set me up with next day delivery which I thought would give me an extra day in case of a problem. The shipment didn't come the next day but the day after and since I was a work that day all I got was the nasty little note on the door. I wasn't even sure if it was for me because my name wasn't on it.in fact the little information on it was scribbled so badly it couldn't be read. I called UPS and asked them if they had my package and was told I would have to pick it up myself. When I told them this was unsatisfactory since I had paid them to deliver it to me not for me to pick it up.
After hearing nothing but excuses the UPS rep told me that if I could be there the next day by 4:00 they would get it to me. Because I needed the battery I left work early to make sure I was there. I got home at 3: oo and waited. Still no package. Again I called UPS and asked them what happened. I was told I would have to pick up the package myself. When I asked for a partial refund they hung up on me.
Any time I order anything I make sure to ask the company not to ship via UPS but to use the USPS. I have had no problems at all with the postal service. If more people would insist the same when ordering items maybe UPS will get the message.
One thing I don't understand about UPS. Here it is illegal to double park your vehicle and yet we see UPS trucks blocking the roadways continuously and they never get ticketed. What's the deal there? UPS must feel they are above the law. Never got my refund either.
