On September 17th I was shopping in the Fry's store in Roseville Ca. When I was approached by Amber Tarrant she was selling Direct TV. I had recently lost my job and I explained to her I needed my internet from comcast to look for work.
She told me her friend Ken Cruz from comcast would set me up with the internet in my sons name so I could keep the service at a reduced price and that would make my total bill 30 dollars less a month then I was currently paying so, I took the deal.
The next day they hooked up the Direct TV and disconnected the comcast TV. I still had the comcast internet. I started calling Amber the next day to have her friend from comcast discontinue the TV service and hook up the internet she never returned my calls.
After a few weeks I called Direct TV and explained what Amber said and did and they told me she was not an employee of direct TV and there was nothing they could do. I told them she was still representing their company and I could not afford to have both services. 99 dollars for comcast and 45 dollars for Direct TV.
I told them to disconnect the Direct TV because I was lied to about what they would do for me. A couple weeks later they withdrew 519 dollars from my bank account for a cancellation fee. I called and talked to Jerry who would not help me then Patty who is vice president who told me if I joined back up with direct tv she will give me my money back.
So now I'm out 20 dollars to sign up 519 for disconnecting the service 99 dollars to comcast and 45 dollars to Direct Tv for the first months service. And I just wanted to save 30 dollars a month on comcast.
I asked to speek to the president and patty told me he didn't take any calls. I went through my bank to get the money back. They sent me a letter saying that direct tv says they need there equipment back before I would get my money back.
The equipment was already sent back and they sent me a notice letting me know they received it. Still I have not received my money back. I contacted Call Kurtis of channel 13 news and they told me they have so many of the same complaints about Direct TV they need to take it to the Federal Government.
Something seriously needs to be done to stop this company from committing fraud. And I want my money back along with an apology from the president. This situation put me in a really bad postion financally.
