I got a tat as Talisman Studio. I gave them the web address and theEXACT tattoo that I wanted. They said cool and THEY would print it out soit would be all ready for me (sweet as pie, before they get your money). The tattoo that I got was in Arabic, and for those who know me... That is not mylanguage I just like the way it looks. Me, trusting that they areprofessionals, I approved the tattoo design and got it put on my leg near myankle. Everything was fine except I scabbed really bad in some parts and, themore I looked at it, I soon realized that they had screwed up on the originaldesign.
I had a copy of the design and I understood how the mistake couldhave been made because they had enlarged the image so much it became verypixelated, therefore making the number 2 and 3 (in Arabic) look very much thesame. I wasn't angry cause it could be fixed I just wanted to make surethat the tattoo I paid $200 for was correct. I went back and pointed outthe mistake and also mentioned that it did not heal well at all and it was veryblotchy. Aida, asked me "was it fine when you left?", I obviouslyreplied "yes, I suppose" and she said then its the way you took careof it. I babied that tattoo! If you know anything about tattoos, you knows that everybody heals different and that's why most if not all (excluding Talisman) offer free touch-ups. So, their resolution was forme to pay $60 for a touch-up on a 2 week old tattoo and they would fix theirmistake then. I agreed but changed my mind and canceled the appointment justtelling them that I didn't have the funds at the moment and that I would justtake the fix for the time being. They thought it was a waste of theirmoney to JUST do a fix and offered that I take some time to think about gettinganother tattoo so then they will do my new tattoo, the touch-up and the fix allat the same time. I said fine but after awhile I realized, why would Iget another tattoo from these guys, if they don't back up their work withfree touch-ups. I called them and left a message, they didn't return mycall. I waited a little while longer and decided to go into their shop and talkabout it face to face. I brought along my friend Mike and he can attestto how rude Kieren (the tattooist) was to me. I explained who Iwas and the situation and the whole time he was rolling his eyes and justgiving me attitude. He said "well, I am going to have to thetattoo" very rudely I might add. I showed him the tattoo and he hadthe gull to say "the whole thing needs to be re-done" lol I felt likesaying 'I KNOW!'. He actually sat there and admitted that a tattoo undera year old has to be completely re-done!!! I said that I knew thatbut, I only wanted the fix... He wasn't to happy about that. I left withthe verbal agreement that I would be back the next day for the fix and that wasthat... Or at least you would have thought so!
Not more than an hour later I get a phone call, from the people who couldn'tremember me 2 weeks after they inked me but, remembered my name and my phonenumber when it mattered to them cause, I DID NOT leave it with them when Idiscussed the fix. The conversation went as follows. Aida, thewife and secretary claims that I spoke to her husbandbut I originally dealt with her and when she looked in their files I had bookedan appointment and not shown up... That was a $60 value therefore they will NOTbe doing the fix. I reminded her that I had cancelled that appointmentwith her because I didn't have the money. That being her only leg tostand on she begins to accuse me of printing out a crappy design the wasillegible and that it wasn't their fault cause I approved the design. Iagain had to remind her that SHE was the one who had printed it out on her crappyprinter and Arabic is not my language so I left it in the hands of the"professionals". She then went on to claim that I was trying torip them off and I was trying to get a free touch-up and that she is notopening up a $50 needle to do one line. I asked her if she was seriousabout me trying to rip THEM off when they are the ones that charged me doublewhat the tattoo was worth, and I know that cause I asked around and, I had toremind her that I didn't want a touch-up, I only wanted the fix. Also, incase anyone was wondering... A tattoo needle costs about $1... I guess Talismanuses the special diamond encrusted platinum type and then are concerned aboutME ripping them off... What a joke! She told me that if I felt thatI got ripped off then Talisman was not the shop for me (wish she'd told me thatbefore me tattoo) and then went on to say that I can go somewhere else and getHepatitis and Aids. She also claimed that she had offered me a deal on mytouch-up of $60 because normally they charge $120. $120 for a touch-up ona $200 tattoo... Not likely! She ended up telling methat they will NOT do the fix and that she was done discussing it then hungup. I waited 6 years to get this tribute tattoo only to be treated like this.
A tattoo is permanent, and I really hope my story deters you from making the same mistake that I did, by trusting Kieran at Talisman Studio to back up his work and supply a quality tattoo. I have a facebook group for anyone willing to support my cause (Talisman Studio Sucks!). I am not looking for a free touch-up or the fix from them anymore... I wouldn't trust them. This report is based purely on principle. You shouldn't be able to treat people like this and get away with it.
