I am reading reports as far back as 2004 and here it is 2010 and Long Distance America is still pulling the same scam. The story sounded exactly like mine. That is, once you are billed by them it is impossible
to get rid of their "service" in spite of promises.
My story: January called and asked to discontinue their service. I was assured this would happen. Next month bill shows I was hooked up and still being billed.
March call back and was given some story about Qwest coding incorrectly. Qwest did not have a clue what they were talking about but agreed to credit my account one month. God Bless reputable companies.
April still on my bill. I want to scream. Called again and was given the story that it takes three months for the request to go through the system. Conveniently they get the money for those three months. Want to bet it will be on my bill in May?
What can I do other than giving up my land line all together? Good idea anyway.
