Recently in Dublin, I made a call home. The first two tries disconnected before 30 seconds. When I finally did connect, the call lasted a grand total of 8 minutes.
The first two calls were billed for $26.11 and $29.30. The final call was $56.60, plus there were two charges for "credit-card validation" for 95 each.
I called their customer service and was told that there was a connection fee, regardless of the duration of the call, so the first two charges would stand. They offered me a $30 discount as a "first time user, " but I am disputing the charges with my credit card company.
Nowhere at the phone kiosk in the Dublin Airport was there any indication of the outrageous charges I could expect to pay. I was certainly prepared to pay something like $2 per minute, but this is just fraud. Allowing a full minute each for the first two calls, that works out to over $11 per minute.
I also reported them to the Ireland Consumer Protection agency, but no response from them.
I see that there are hundreds of complaints about this company. How are they able to continue to steal money from people?
