Signed up for service in October have spent over a $1,000.00 and have used only about 4 to 5 hours of true internet service.
Customer service has not been helpful, has only recommened upgrading to a professional package to stop existing compabability problems. Their reccomendation was false and upgrading would not solve the probelems. However, they would not admit that they falsly recommened the service. Therefore, I was told I am unable to cancel with out a $350.00 service fee.
After main attempts to cancel service have not been succesful because they first will not bill you directly, unless you pay an adtional $5 for month to have a bill mailed to your home. I agreeed to this fee, but have not recieved one invoice to my home. When calling to say that I have not recieved a bill, they say the balance must be paid in full by credit card to activate this service. That has been nearly 8 months of this. I require an itemized invoice, which they can not seem to provide. After repeated attempts to solve this matter, they still will not allow me to cancel until my balance was paid with a credit card.
This is a total scan to keep billing my credit card and create an appearance that I am deliquent in payment. Today I will pay the balance due, of course via credit card in order to attempt to cancel this terrible service. Somehow I bet I will get a call in two month saying that my payments are late and that I will need to pay via credit card in order to cancel this account. I have never seen such a vicous scam in all my life.
I will also be calling the Better Business Bureau today in hopes of having some sort of formal record of these account on file against Direcway. This is truly highway robery.
