I fell for for their wed ad when I had IRS probles. Lots of upfront sweet talk.
I paid their fees and furnished all documentations. Every few days a representative would call. Suddendly I started receiving notice that they need more money. My case manager would talk to me unless they received more money.
My fault. I sent more money. And slowly got deeper into their clutches. I provided more and more info and they seemed to drag their feet. No real negotiations were made.
Finally they presented an amount to be paid to the IRS. It blew me away. The amount was not near what it should be. I called my case manager and asked if the number presented weren't from the IRS. No! They, the firm did the calculations. Those were their calculations¬ the IRS.
I asked if she had talked to the IRS. She said No. Not yet. Imagine how I felt after months of bills and phone call.
Angry, I called the IRS and worked out things on my own. I was able to reduce the amount from $36,000 to $15,000. I called Fouts office and terminated their services immediately. They had the audacity to charge me for their on that call to.
Lastly, before you call Fouts Office, call the IRS first. They will work with you.
