I wrote a letter in March asking Barrington Heights and CO Mgmt to address some issues requiring management attention. One of those issues (still unresolved seven months later) was to fix the light outside of my garage. This is a fire hazard. I have received no response from Barrington Heights or CO Mgmt on this issue.
The second issue that was ignored by Barrington Heights and CO Mgmt was regarding garbage dumpsters. I complained about the huge dumpster that showed up outside of my garage. I DID NOT order this dumpster and found it to be unmanageable. I am a small person and cut my hands twice trying to move this dumpster. Again, I received no response from Barrington Heights or CO Mgmt.
Months later (September), I received a letter from Barrington Heights/CO Mgmt threatening me with fines and legal action if I did not move this dumpster into my garage. What? I responded to this letter within two days and told Barrington Heights/CO Mgmt to remove this dumpster (that I did not request it in the first place). Again, I received no response.
A month later, the dumpster was removed. Yesterday, I received a "friendly" letter from Barrington Heights/CO Mgmt with a $25 fine on it for a dumpster violation and another $35 charge for penalties/late fees. Again, what?
The banks and credit card companies are well known for charging their customers ridiculous fees/penalties. Barrington Heights/CO Mgmt are also engaging in these unscrupulous business practices. I have always paid my townhouse association dues early. Heaven forbid that you should be even a day late. Barrington Heights/CO Mgmt will nail you with a $35 late charge.
I want to make sure that anyone considering the purchase of a townhouse in the Barrington Heights community knows what they are getting into.
I have always enjoyed being a homeowner in the past. Being a homeowner at Barrington Heights is not a pleasant experience.
