On Sept 19th We took our beloved family pet Chocolate. An eight year old chocolate lab to the Harbor Animal Hospital. Dr. Tonya Gray diagnosed her with an infection in her uterus. We were quoted $1500.00 for emergency surgery. We where told without it she would die. We where also quoted a price of $228.00 when we walked in, and ended up being charged $360 by the time we where done.
We chose to seek a second opinion. We then took her to another local vet Fox Lake Animal Hospital. They quoted us $385.00 for the same procedure. However they found the syptoms and test results from the first vet inconclusive, Although the test results were not certain with the vets experience we chose to go ahead and have them perform the procedure, as a better safe than sorry precautionary measure.
After surgery that afternoon the vet found no infection but had gone ahead and spayed her.
