We purchased furniture from Levitz. Wine was spilled on the arm of a love seat and we called Stain Safe immediately. The person on the other end of the line was very rude. They said they would send us a kit to clean it and if that didn't work to call them back.
Well, if you fade the furniture in anyway the contract is not valid, so when we got the kit we were very carefull. The stain did not come out so we called back, and was on hold for a very long time. When someone finally came to the phone we were told that a technician would come out and clean it. They did indeed come and he told my husband that he would not clean it because the fabric he thought was not "color safe".
He said he would send a photo to Levitz and someone would get to back to us. No one called so we called Levitz to see if this was done and they had no idea what we were talking about and that we should have contacted them if this happened in the first year. No one told us this information. So after a month still nothing happened, so I contacted Levitz again. They said that they would e mail stain safe and see what was going on.
After a week, we received no phone call and so I called Levitz again to see what was happening with our claim. I was told that our claim was under "audit". I asked what that meant and the person on the line said she didn't know and would find out and call me back. No phone call, and now it is going on three months. The last time we spoke with Levitz they said they would give us a store credit on out warranty and I told her I didn't think that was good enough.
Finally we went to Levitz and spoke with a manager who said he knew of the problems and I asked why they are still selling this to costomers and he responded that they are trying to work things out with stainmaters and that someone would call us in about 45 minutes to schedule a time to come and clean our furniture. NO CALL YET, and it is 3 hours after we left the store. If this isn't the biggest scam I don't know what is.
