I hired Jamey Carter to replace my fence. He had a guy named Mike meet me. I paid him 1/2 of the quoted price of $2,620. I paid Mike $1,310 under the name of "Complete Fence and Remodeling." I paid him on 06/17/09.
Two weeks later, all that had been done were posts set in the ground, and my old fence torn down and stacked in my yard. This was almost three weeks after the fact. I demanded a refund from Jamey Carter. He signed a second contract with me acknowledging that he owed me $515. That was too low, but I figured I would take what I could get.
I am writing this on August 14 and have still not received my money. I plan on suing now under the DTPA of Texas which allows for significant, additional punitive damages. Jamey Carter and Mike (I do not know his last name) refuse to answer my calls and attempts to settle. They must be stopped from ripping off any more DFW residents. Their actions before these are well documented it appears and habitual.
Unfortunately, I did not do my homework and have paid for it. I just do not want it to happen to anyone else.
